<h2>Introducing Colin Crooks, the new CEO of ACT Group</h2>

Colin Crooks 

CEO of ACT 

 

Colin Crooks is an executive leader with decades of experience in energy solutions, including a decade working in renewables and the renewable energy transition. He joins ACT as CEO, effective in April 2024.  

 

Crooks spent more than 31-years at Shell where he held a variety of roles serving both retail and institutional customers. From 2018 to 2020, he served as CEO of the company’s First Utility business, later renamed Shell Energy Retail. Following that role, he stepped up to lead the brand’s renewable energy work in Europe as Senior Vice President of Renewables and Energy Solutions. This role included responsibility for the company’s offshore wind projects.  

 

An engineer by training, Crooks holds a PhD with Honors in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London and a Masters in Chemical Engineering with Honors from the University of Toronto. In addition to his work as an executive, he is an experienced corporate board member and chair who has held positions on the boards of Sonnen Group, Limejump, the Fuels Europe Association, Miro Refinery, Shell Energy Retail, Shell UK, and Shell Deutschland.
